Maries County SWAT and drug task force arrest three people

The Maries County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that it arrested three people overnight with assistance from their SWAT team and LANEG drug task force.

ABC 17 News called the sheriff’s office this morning and they confirmed a drug-related search warrant was served around 10 p.m. Wednesday at a residence on Maries County Road 617.

Officials say they found what they believe was numerous drugs inside the residence, but weren’t able to immediately identify which types.

ABC 17 News also asked what led up to the search warrant, but the official at the sheriff’s office was unable to answer that questions at the time.

The department said on its Facebook page the suspects were taken into custody without incident.

They plan to release more information later this morning.
