Tolton HS principal announces resignation
Kristie Wolfe, the principal and president at Father Tolton Regional Catholic High School, announced her resignation June 24.
Wolfe, the first principal at the school, says her resignation is effective as of June 30.
In a press conference, Monday, Wolfe said, “Opening this school might be the most challenging thing I’ve ever done. And stepping away from it is no different. I love the students, the parents, the teachers and the community of Tolton Catholic. I step aside at this time because it is the right thing to do for this school and for this school’s continued growth.”
She went on to say she’s given what she can and plans to rest before figuring out her next move.
In a statement to the school community June 24, Wolfe said Tolton needs “other leadership gifts” at this time. Wolfe has overseen operations at the school as president and principal since it opened in 2011.
Bishop John R. Gaydos of the Diocese of Jefferson City sent a letter to the Tolton community Friday as well, saying he offers his best wishes to Wolfe, as well as “deep gratitude and heartfelt thanks” for her leadership. Bishop Gaydos has appointed Sister Julie Brandt as acting administrator at Tolton. Brandt currently serves as associate superintendent of Catholic schools for the Jefferson City diocese.
