Construction starts on new Columbia BMW dealership

Coil Construction broke ground on the new BMW of Columbia dealership Monday.

The dealership will be located at 1900 I-70 Drive.

This ground-up 32,000 square foot facility will become the Drewing Automotive group’s new location to sell and service BMW automobiles. It will become one of the top three largest BMW dealerships in Missouri.

The facility will include a 7,500 square foot showroom and a parking lot capable of holding an inventory of more than 300 automobiles. it also includes a new car delivery room, a state-of-the-art customer lounge, and an automatic car wash.

“Every customer will have a world -class experience at the new BMW of Columbia facility,” said Gary Drewing.

The new dealership’s service department will include 12 vehicle lift workstations and a full line of BMW specific lifestyle accessories.

Special building features include a wrap-around 23 foot tall window system with starphire ultra-clear glass at the showroom and an ultra-flat finesse finish EIFS system on the exterior, and BMW specific clinker tile flooring in the service area.

The dealership is scheduled for completion in spring 2017.
