Police confirm vehicle damaged in overnight shooting in north Columbia
UPDATE 9:17am: Columbia police confirm they responded to a shooting Wednesday morning in north Columbia.
It happened just after 1:30 Wednesday morning in the 2000 block of Doris Drive.
Police say an investigation revealed an older, light colored vehicle drove through the area and fired several gunshots at an unoccupied, parked vehicle on the side of the road.
The vehicle sustained several bullet holes from the shooting.
Police say they recovered a bullet from the vehicle and a shell casing in the roadway nearby. They say there were no reported injuries and no further property damage located.
Police say the investigation is on-going.

ORIGINAL STORY: This morning, we’re hearing reports of an overnight shooting in North Columbia.
It apparently happened at 2005 Doris Drive just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday .
ABC 17 News spoke to Columbia Police this morning . While they could not confirm the shooting, they did confirm that officers went to check out the scene.
We’re hearing reports that police were on scene for over an hour. There was apparently a gunman that drove off before he went back to the scene. We’re also hearing reports that one person is in the hospital.
