Storms bring strong wind Monday evening

Storms developed along a cold front in northern Missouri late Monday afternoon and gradually moved south, reaching HWY 24 close to 8 PM. The first reports of strong wind came from Moberly at 7:45PM as 50 mph winds took part of the roof off of Fire Station 1 along with a tree was blocking county road 2630.

As the storms moved south, strong wind and heavy rain caused more damage. 8:00 PM- Mexico: Tree Blown Down Across Hwy Y One Half Mile North Of Hwy 22, 8:10 PM- Sturgeon: Porch Roof Blown Off And Into Power Lines, 8:15 PM- Fayette: Estimated 50Mph Gust, Damage Reported To A Bradford Pear Tree Split In Half, 8:30 PM- Mexico:Tree Fell On House And Power Lines
