Veterans fair at Hickman High School

A veteran’s resource fair will be held at Hickman High School in Columbia Saturday morning. The fair will be in the school’s main lobby from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. The even is sponsored by US Representative Vicky Hartzler.

Congresswoman Hartzler represents a district that includes Whiteman Air Force Base as well as Fort Leonard Wood Army Base. She also serves on the House Armed Services Committee.

According to the flyer for the event, veterans are encouraged to join “experts, leaders, and fellow veterans for informational discussions, camaraderie, and refreshments.”

Veterans Affairs will have an informational session from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Hartzler said she wants veterans to know how to access the resources available to them at the V.A. as well as get information on how to start a new career or even go back to school.

The congresswoman is running for reelection in August. She’ll face off against fellow Republican John Webb, Democrats Gordon Christensen and Jack Truman, and Libertarian Mark Bliss.
