Hit and run suspect on the loose after crashing into home

Columbia police responded to an early morning hit and run involving a historical home at the corner of West Blvd. and Ash St.

It happened around 1:15 Friday morning. The homeowner said she was getting ready for bed when she heard tires screeching followed by three loud bangs.

When she came out of her home, she saw a white Chrysler 300 that had hit the corner of her house. According to CPD, the Columbia Fire Department said there was no structural damage.

She said she saw the passenger door open and a man on the driver’s rummaging through the car.

She went back inside to get her phone and when she came out she saw the man getting into another car and drive off.

The homeowner found a large bud light bottle in her yard after the crash.

Columbia police told ABC 17 News they do not have an ID for the driver. However, the white Chrysler was towed.

The homeowner also told our crews the officers on scene told her the Chrysler was stolen.

There were no reported injuries.
