Boone County man charged with possessing, promoting child pornography

UPDATE 6/17 1:00 p.m:Row was charged with 2 counts of promoting child pornography in the 1st degree. He is also being charged with Possession of child pornography. His bond is $50,000.

He is banned from contact with anyone 17 and younger, the internet and smart phones.

ORIGINAL STORY:On Thursday Daniel B. Row, 27, was arrested on suspicion of Possession of Child Pornography and Promoting Child Pornography.

Row estimates that he has up to 200 GB of child pornography files.

The investigation began in December of 2015 when a Task Force investigator downloaded child pornography from a computer located in Columbia.

In May 2016, the investigator once again downloaded images from a different computer located in Columbia.

After receiving records from the internet provider, the Task Force learned that both downloads came from the same address located in Boone County.

On Thursday, a court ordered a search warrant and it was served to the residence.

A computer and other media was seized.

During the on scene investigation of the devices, hundreds of images depicting the sexual molestation of children as young as babies and toddlers were recovered.
