Hot, humid weather continues, little relief in sight

A summer weather pattern will keep us in hot, humid weather through the weekend with only slight relief Friday and Saturday. A ridge of high pressure aloft is expanding and will keep the storm track well to our north through the weekend which means little to no rain in Mid-Missouri.

Under this ridge, temperatures will climb into the 90s which combined with the humidity, will make it feel more like 100 to 105 Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Nights will stay warm and stuffy with lows in the mid 70s.

Slight relief comes as a weak cold front drops in from the northeast Thursday night, bringing the temperature and humidity down slightly Friday and Saturday. But it will still be hot with highs in the low 90s.

Medium range forecast models show the upper ridge retreating to the west by the middle of next week which will bring temperatures down a bit and give us slightly better rain chances.
