Police searching for suspects after armed robbery ends in shooting in central Columbia

On Sunday evening police say one man, 28, was walking on Sexton Road near Jewell Avenue when he was approached by four black males.

One suspect reportedly pulled out a handgun and demanded money. When the victim refused he was shot by one of the suspects.

All four suspects ran in an unknown direction.

The victim was able to drive himself to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

Detectives were on scene investigating the incident.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation is still ongoing.
