Slight rain chance, hot humid weekend

Much warmer and more humid air will move in behind a warm front which is expected to lift to the northeast through Mid-Missouri Wednesday night into Thursday morning. There is a chance a few t-storms could develop in Iowa Wednesday night and track to the southeast just ahead of the warm front, affecting areas east of HWY 63 through Thursday morning. At this time most of these storms are expected to track into far eastern Missouri and Illinois, missing most of our area.

You’ll notice the heat and humidity behind this warm front. Temperatures will jump up into the lower 90s Thursday afternoon and into the mid 90s Friday through Sunday. When factoring in the humidity, it will feel more like the upper 90s to near 100 during peak heating. We won’t cool down much at night, with overnight lows dropping to near 70.

Our next chance of t-storms comes Sunday afternoon as a cold front drops in from the northeast. This “back door” front will bring a chance of storms to eastern Missouri Sunday afternoon, gradually shifting to the west into Mid-Missouri Sunday evening and overnight.
