Columbia man arrested following sex crimes sting
A Columbia man is in jail after his arrest on suspicion of sending nude photos to whom he thought was a teenager, and asking for nude images in return.
In April, the Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force started investigating after Jeremy Rogers allegedly started exchanging e-mails with an undercover detective posing as a woman with a 13-year-old daughter. According to the department, Rogers sought to converse with the daughter through electronic means, asking her for nude images and sending nude photos of himself via text message.
Rogers, 40, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of attempted sexual exploitation of a child and attempted sexual misconduct involving a child.
