The 28th Annual Memorial Day Parade will begin Monday at 10 am

COLUMBIA, Mo- The 28th Annual Salute to Veteran’s parade and ceremony will begin at 10 am.

There will be a new route to the parade this year. It will begin on Broadway and Dorsey and travel west on Broadway, eventually ending in the parking lot beside Columbia College’s Owens soccer stadium.

Parachuters from the U.S. Army will be jumping out of a plane and landing in the stadium to begin the ceremony following the parade.

Veterans from World War II and those who served as military recruiters will be honored at the ceremony. A speech will be given on the meaning of Memorial Day and Amazing Grace will be sung.

To end the celebration there will be a 21 gun salute.

Parking will be available on the side of the soccer stadium off of 7th street and the Miller lot.
