Smoke from truck causes traffic to slow down west of Columbia
Update: The scene is all clear. Traffic flow is back to normal.
A semi truck on the side of I-70 west of Columbia had smoke coming from it Monday afternoon, causing slower traffic in the area.
No one was hurt, and the smoke was apparently caused by an emission system malfunction. A tow truck is on its way to the scene right now, but traffic could continue to be slow for a while.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper on scene told ABC 17 News that the semi truck was never on fire, but there was extensive smoke. The trooper was on scene to help direct traffic as the truck was partially in the right, westbound lane. No lanes were ever closed while the scene was being cleared.
