Marginal Threat this Week

Tuesday morning will bring a chance for rain and more clouds. This will likely lower the risk for strong to severe thunderstorms in the afternoon, mainly after 2PM. Storms Tuesday afternoon that could be strong to severe look to be mainly in northwest Mid-Missouri in the counties of Chariton, Howard, Macon, Saline, and northern Boone county.

As this cold front tracks southeast, storms will likely redevelop along this front on Wednesday. From Columbia to areas southeast near Rolla and Vienna, strong storms in the evening look likely. There will be a chance for rain and perhaps a few thunderstorms in the morning. This could lower the threat for stronger storms in the afternoon. Large hail 1″ in diameter or greater and damaging winds of 60 mph or greater will be the threat with the stronger storms.

Rainfall totals this week will range from .50″ to 1″ north of HWY 50, and 1″ to 1.5″ near the Lake of the Ozarks. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
