Eight-year-old drowns in Barry County

An 8-year-old boy is dead after he drowned in southern Missouri this weekend.

Authorities say Haiden Harrison was swimming in Flat Creek in Barry County at about 1 p.m., when he disappeared under the water.

Rescuers were able to pull his body out of the creek, but were unable to resuscitate him. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
