Douglass Bulldogs Youth Baseball League needs volunteers

The Douglass Bulldogs Baseball League is still needing boys and girls ages 5-10 to join their league. The league is geared at teaching kids basic baseball skills in a fun, non competitive environment.

The league’s games will begin the week of June 6. Cost per child is $32.

Volunteer coaches and umpires are needed, also sponsoring opportunities are available starting at $50.

Columbia’s Parks and Recreation is continuously trying to host more family fun activities in the park. Families in the past have been concerned with safety in the parks during games and practices. Columbia Police Department have increased patrols in the Douglass Park area, and according to Police and parents it’s been working.

League enrollment has been a problem in the past with the parks reputation. This year enrollment is down twenty to thirty kids, resulting in some leagues having to combine to accommodate lower numbers.
