Jefferson City man sentenced in federal court for child pornography
UPDATE:A Jefferson City man has been sentenced for receiving and trying to send child pornography over the internet.
Dustin Trail, 35, was sentenced to five years in federal prison without parole, after which Trail will have 10 years of supervised release. In August 2015, Trail admitted to getting child pornography over the internet. He also pleaded guilty to possessing and trying to send child porn via the internet.
ORIGINAL STORY: A federal grand jury indicted a Jefferson City man Wednesday morning for sending and receiving child pornography.
Dustin Trail, 32, is accused of receiving, attempting to distribute and possessing child pornography last year.
According to the indictment, Trail received child pornography on September 3, 2013 and tried to send child pornography over the Internet the next day. The case covers child pornography possession from May 2013 to Oct. 31, 2013.
Trail will be required to turn over his desktop computer, three hard drives and some CDs. Officials say they found 14,675 thumbnail images, 20 video clips, and 65 pictures from email involving child pornography.
The case was investigated by the FBI, Boone County Sheriffs Department, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations, according to a news release.
