Deputies arrest man in connection to shooting that injured one on Demaret Drive

A man was in the Boone County jail Thursday after he was arrested in connection to a shooting that injured one person.

Officials with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department tells ABC 17 News deputies responded to a reckless incident with a gun last week on Demaret Drive.

Once there deputies apparently learned a 22-year-old man had been shot in the abdomen. Officials say the victim was taken by a private vehicle to University Hospital.

Officials say deputies talked to witnesses who identified 32-year-old Kenneth Michael Shively as a suspect.

Shively and the victim apparently lived together at the residence on Demaret.

Officials say the victim is still alive.
