Judge grants permanent injunction, protects Planned Parenthood

U.S. District Judge Nanette Laughrey granted a permanent injunction Wednesday, protecting Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri’s license to perform abortions in Columbia.

The state tried to strip the organization of its license for not having a doctor with hospital privileges.

Planned Parenthood still can’t perform abortions until it has a doctor with those privileges.

The ruling claims the Department of Health and Senior Services likely bowed to political pressure and unfairly revoked the clinic’s license.
