Students sick after trip to Mid-Missouri water park
Several students got sick after a field trip to a Mid-Missouri water park.
TAN-TAR-A’s general manager told ABC 17 News the health department came out and shut the water park down for a couple of hours, between 4-7:00 p.m, and to investigate.
He says his children actually had to go to the hospital.
The general manager explained what may have caused the children to get sick. He said there was an issue with inactive chlorine in the water.
He said this created a chemical in the air that 14 of 72 children had a negative reaction to.
The general manager said the park has never had this problem before and they’re working with the health department to make sure it never happens again.
TAN-TAR-A says it has refunded the school.
