Work continues on Missouri Capitol building

Missouri’s state capitol building is ongoing repairs as part of a $40M exterior stonework project.

Officials said the repairs will greatly enhance the life of the capitol building at 201 W. Capitol Ave.and address its deterioration.

“As part of the current phase of the ongoing repairs and renovation at the Missouri State Capitol, the Office of Administration will be fully removing the stone steps on the south side of the building in order to provide new waterproofing material, which will protect the substructure of the building from the current water infiltration that is occurring,” Ryan Burns of the Office of Administration said.

Funding for the project was approved in last year’s budget.
