Warming temperatures, weekend storm chances

Warm, dry weather Friday into Saturday will come to an end as a cold front slowly moves south Saturday, bringing a chance of t-storms to areas north of I-70 by mid-afternoon.

High temperatures will climb into the low to mid 80s Saturday with dry weather for most of the day. Storm chances will increase in northern Missouri Saturday afternoon, gradually developing south to near I-70 by evening, including Columbia. A few strong storms are possible with small hail and gusty winds.

Depending on how far south the front can make it before turning back to the north will determine who gets rain Saturday night. At this time is looks like storms could drop as far south as a Jefferson City to Sedalia line Saturday night, turning back to the north Sunday morning with a chance of rain early in the day north of I-70.

Additional storms are possible by late afternoon Sunday affecting areas as far south as the Lake of the Ozarks Sunday evening and overnight.
