Hanover Blvd residents concerned after WWII Veteran gets beat up

Residents near Hanover Blvd are voicing their concerns after a WWII Veteran is attacked in their neighborhood.

Drizz Zarhouni, a registered sex offender, was arrested on Sunday after beating a 91 year old, kicking him multiple times breaking bones in his neck and face. Zarhouni reportedly beat the Veteran before stealing his car and taking off.

Zarhouni is charged with elder abuse, robbery, and stealing a motor vehicle. He is held on a cash only $500,000 bond.

After hearing what happened on Sunday afternoon in their neighborhood, residents in the area told ABC 17 that they fear for their lives.

Near their property is a fence that separates a bus lot from a adult living area. Residents say multiple times they have seen people walk through the area, that aren’t residents, causing trouble.

Residents in the area believe that a simple fix to a fence could possibly help troublemakers passing thru the neighborhood.

“It’s scary at night, when you hear voices, you wonder is someone looking thru your window? are you safe?” Toma Marshall told ABC 17.

Three senior neighbors decided to take matters into their own hands and put a temporary fence up. The ladies told ABC 17 that they’ve contacted the city, police, and their property manager for help but the project continually got delayed, and they just want help putting the fence up so they can feel safe.

ABC 17 tried reaching out to the property manager but the offices were closed.
