Westbound lanes of the Missouri River Bridge close

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo- Around 8:30 Sunday night, MODOT closed down the westbound lanes of the Missouri River Bridge and traffic is reduced to the two eastbound lanes.

The 7 million dollar project began in March and will continue for four months, ending around Labor Day weekend.

There has already been traffic build up over the past couple of months, but the major delays will begin this week.

MODOT asks drivers to plan accordingly and to leave earlier than normal.

Along with the westbound lane closures, the following access ramps are closed.

All access ramps from Route 54/63 to and from West Main Street;

The eastbound on-ramp from McCarty St. to Route 54/63; and

The westbound on-ramp from Route W to Route 54/63.

Speed limits around the bridge have been reduced and drivers are encouraged to pay extra attention to the new traffic flow.
