Two people recovering after rollover crash on I-70

Two people are recovering after a rollover crash on I-70.

It happened just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning near mile marker 95.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the car traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking median cables as it crossed into the eastbound lanes of I-70.

The car then went airborne and traveled down an embankment before overturning.

In a Facebook post, the Cooper County Fire Protection District said I-70 was closed for approximately 25 minutes to allow Staff for Life helicopters to transport the patients.

The 20-year-old female driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries while her 25-year-old passenger went to the hospital with moderate injuries.

According to the crash report, neither the driver, nor the other occupant were wearing seatbelts.
