Rain This Weekend

Friday night a low pressure system will bring rainfall and a few thunderstorms in the evening. The thunderstorm threat looks low in the evening, but if storms develop south of I-70 and near the Lake of the Ozarks and I-44 will have the greatest chance. Much of the rain looks likely to hold off until midnight. Overnight rain looks likely to lift north of I-70 early on Saturday morning with storms possible through 9AM.

This could stabilize the atmosphere. If we see some clearing during the day on Saturday, a few strong storms can’t be ruled out. A cold front looks to approach Mid-Missouri by evening. The severe threat however at this time looks low. Pockets of heavy rain will be possible Saturday night and into Sunday morning, particularly for areas south of I-70 and near I-44, where 1″ to 1.5″ looks possible through Sunday morning. At this time rain looks to end mid morning on Sunday. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
