Osage County services functional despite sheriff’s hiatus

“All is well,” according to the 911 dispatch and emergency medical services centers in Osage County.

As Sheriff Michael Dixon remains on unofficial hiatus, county officials say law enforcement and emergency services have not been significantly affected.

“We have not noticed any issues with our responses. The calls are still being sent out and we respond almost daily with members of the Sheriff’s Office and the deputies have really stepped up to the plate,” said Joshua Krull, Osage County EMS chief. “We’ve not noticed any delays for service or any citizens not getting calls answered because of it.”

Dixon is currently charged with unlawful use of a weapon while intoxicated and is set to be arraigned in Boone County on May 2.
