Columbia police arrest man for armed robbery
A Columbia man has been arrested on suspicion of armed robbery following an incident in late March.
On March 31, police responded to a robbery call on south Providence. The victim told officers Trevon Green came into the home and robbed the victim at gunpoint. A week prior, Green thought the victim stole his wallet; the victim told officers he owed Green money for alcohol, but hadn’t taken Green’s wallet.
The man told Green he could come get the owed money, and not anticipating problems, let Green in. That’s when he says Green pulled a gun out, pointed it at the man’s face, and said he knew the victim had taken the wallet.
The victim told police he gave Green $500, and Green took some electronics as well, before leaving the scene.
On Wednesday, April 20, police arrested Green at his home on Clark Lane on suspicion of armed criminal action, robbery, unlawful use of weapons, and possession of a controlled substance. As of April 21, Green was still in the Boone County Jail.
