Original Story (July 1, 2015):An Auxvasse man was arrested Tuesday on several charges after his girlfriend said he assaulted her.
Court documents allege 49-year-old Sammy Magruder was upset because the victim took off a ring he bought for her, so he physically attacked her in his home in the 5400 block of County Road 262.
The victim said Magruder took her cell phone and locked it in a bedroom, saying “I will shoot you if you try to get your phone to call anyone.”
The victim told deputies Magruder hit her in the head with a vodka bottle and ash tray, and then pushed her to the floor and held her down, refusing to let her move.
The court documents said Magruder penetrated the victim with an unknown object and with his fist without her consent while she was in the living room.
Magruder then began to strangle her and dragged her into the shower to wash away the evidence, according to the court documents.
Deputies saw bruising on the victim’s arms, inner thighs, and a black eye.
When investigators searched the house, they saw blood on the floor and hallway, and clothes and a broken ash tray in the trash.
