Cole County deputies, troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and other officers were first seen on Northway Drive, just west of Jefferson City around 8:30 Tuesday morning.
Captain John Wheeler with the Cole County Sheriff’s Department tell ABC 17 News they were executing a search warrant at the home. Wheeler said state troopers used flashbang devices to disorient anyone inside as a means to protect task force officers.
The grenades smashed several windows at the home and made loud noises, which caused a resident nearby to report hearing gunshots.
Wheeler said officers had not located any drugs at the home yet, but some weapons were found inside the home.
ABC 17 News has a crew on the scene and will keep updating this story as we get new details.
