Police looking for suspect from robbery in north-central Columbia

Columbia police are looking for the suspect in a robbery in the north-central part of the city early Monday.

According to officers, the victim was on his way to buy an item from a Craigslist ad around midnight. As he walked up to the house on Hinkson Avenue, he says a man came up, indicated he had a weapon, and demanded money. After getting the cash, the suspect ran off.

The victim wasn’t hurt. The suspect is a white make in his late 20’s, around five foot ten with brown hair and a large build.

The Columbia Police Department reminds the public there is an Online Exchange Zone open 24 hours in the lobby of the department headquarters in downtown Columbia. The goal is to have a place where people can complete online transactions in a safe area with video surveillance.
