Ameren makes historic donation

Ameren Missouri made a historic donation to the Millbottom Center in Jefferson City Tuesday.

For nearly 80 years, the center was an Ameren plant. Tuesday, the power company donated several architectural drawings and photos of the former plant.

Chip Webb, Director of Central Missouri Division, Ameren Missouri said, “It’s all about preserving the heritage of the community. This building has been around the Jefferson City area since the 1920s, providing power and steam heat to the city and surrounding area.”

Webb went on to say, “It’s good to be able to preserve what’s still here.”

The company says the event was part of the company’s goal to preserve the heritage of the communities it serves.
