James Whitt, Jan Mees elected to Columbia Public School Board

FINAL RESULTS: Incumbents James Whitt and Jan Mees have been elected to the Columbia School Board. Voters choose two members on Tuesday, out of a total of five candidates running for both open seats.

James Whitt is the current board president and Jan Mees is also an incumbent. Whitt was first elected to the board in 2010. Mees has served on the board since 2007.

The other three candidates running are Joeseph Toepke, Sarah Dubbertand Paul Rainsberger.

Toepke is a current member on the CPS Board of Education Finance Committee. He ran for school board in 2014. Toepke is retired from serving with the Army National Guard.

Dubbert is the current vice president of treasury services for Central Missouri Region of Commerce Bank. She was a former public high school math teacher and coach, according to her campaign page.

Rainsberger has lived in Columbia since 1997, according to his campaign page. He was the director of the University of Missouri Labor Education Program from from 1997-2015.
