Afternoon fire destroys home in Cooper County

A fire that happened around 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Otterville has left a family without a home.

It took 15 firefighters about an hour and a half to battle the blaze.

No one was home at the time of the fire but the family pets, a dog and two cats, died in the fire.

The fire chief said the cause was determined to be electrical in nature.
