Windy weekend with warming temperatures
Our usual spring winds will increase this weekend as temperatures start to warm up with abundant sunshine. However, nights will be cold with lows dipping into the 30s which will give us a chilly start to the day both Saturday and Sunday.
Temperatures will start off in the low 30s early Saturday morning, reaching near 60 in the afternoon north of I-70 and into the low to mid 60s south. Northwesterly winds will increase to 20 mph by afternoon with gusts up to 30 at times. The wind will make it feel cool most of the day.
As winds calm down Saturday night, temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 30s under clear skies. Winds will shift to the south and increase again Sunday, bumping temperatures up into the lower 70s as winds gust to 30 mph at times.
We will have an elevated fire risk Sunday due to the dry, warm and windy conditions. Outdoor burning is not recommended this weekend, especially Sunday.
