Multi-vehicle crash caused delays on I-70

A crash on I-70 east of the Route Z exit caused some delays for eastbound drivers.

The crash happened just before 11:30 am. on Friday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper on scene, a pick-up truck started having transmission issues and pulled into the ditch on the right hand side of the eastbound lanes.

Traffic started backing up and slowing down to avoid the truck. Trying to avoid the slowing traffic, the sedan swerved into the median and into the cables.

The trooper on scene said no one was injured during the incident.

Traffic was backed up about a mile to the Highway Z exit. But was quickly flowing again once the two vehicles were towed from the scene.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department was also on scene.
