MoDOT mascot found in Boone County

MoDOT’s famous 10-foot tall mascot, Barrel Bob, has been found in Boone County.

A viewer told ABC 17 he thought he saw the mascot on the side of 163/Tom Bass Road, near Highway 63 Thursday night and had notified authorities.

Crews on location confirmed it was the popular roadside safety feature that had been missing since the weekend of March 19 from Cole County.

Bob’s usual spot is near Highway 50/63 in east Jefferson City.

The mascot was loaded onto a truck and taken to the Columbia MoDOT substation.
