Bus, SUV collide near MU campus

A school bus shuttling VA employees to work was involved in a traffic crash Friday morning.

It happened around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Mick Deaver and Providence, near MU’s campus.

A First Student bus and a GMC Denali were involved. The Denali had front driver-side damage. The bus had minor passenger-side damage.

One officer of scene speculated, based on damage, the bus could have been crossing Providence when the collision happened. The police still need to finish their investigation to get a final cause. MU police and VA police were on scene.

An officer on scene told ABC 17 crews there were a few passengers on the bus that suffered minor injuries. Our crews saw at least one person being taken away in an ambulance with a neck brace on.

VA employees are currently using a parking lot at the Life Sciences building for parking and are being shuttled to the VA until their parking garage is finished with construction.
