Fulton holding public forum on 1/2 sales tax plan

Fulton officials have some big plans, and they are asking taxpayers to help pay for them. They are holding a public form at city hall starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Council members and the mayor will be available to answer people’s questions.

The half-cent sales tax appearing on April 5 ballots next Tuesday is expected to bring in $750,000 a year. It will go to parks and also stormwater and sewer improvements.

Possible future projects include a rec center, a complex with five baseball fields and an outdoor pool. The rest will go to cover repairs for current water runoff problems and add new curbs and gutters to several streets.
