Cooling Friday, warming weekend

The cold front which brought rain and storms to Mid-Missouri Wednesday will move east of the area Thursday afternoon allowing drier and slightly cooler air to move in. A secondary cold front moves through Friday morning and will cool temperatures more, keeping daytime highs in the 50s to end the work week. There is a slight chance of light rain Friday morning mainly north of I-70 as this second cold front moves through.

Temperatures will stay cool Friday into Saturday with daytime temperatures staying in the 50s Friday and only touching near 60 Saturday after a cold morning in the 30s. It will be breezy Saturday with northwesterly winds making it feel chilly, even during the afternoon.

Winds will shift to the south and usher in milder air Sunday with highs in the upper 60s under mostly sunny skies. The warming trend will continue into the start of next week.
