St. James man arrested after getting caught with drugs

Authorities in Maries County arrested Jared Brown on Wednesday after allegedly finding several kinds of drugs in his car. During a traffic stop on Main Street, a sheriff’s deputy and a Belle police officer reported finding a loaded gun in the car next to Brown.

They also reported finding methamphetamine,marijuana, vicodin, drug paraphernalia, and items typically connected to distribution of controlled substances. In all, the drugs were valued at around $10,000. Two loaded pistols were also found in the car.

Brown, 23, faces several drug possession charges. At the time of his arrest, Brown was on probation for distributing drugs, and had a warrant out of Phelps County for distributing drugs.
