Victim identified in deadly crash south of Columbia

Deputies have identified the driver killed in a truck crash south of Columbia on Monday night. It happened on Stanley Poe Road just before 8:00 p.m.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Jacob Robb of Columbia was driving north when his truck went off the road. Robb over-corrected, went back onto the road, and skidded off the other side. The truck then flipped after hitting some rocks, landing upright back on the road.

Robb, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the truck and died at the scene.

Deputies on scene said they believed speed and the curve in the road contributed to the crash.
