Easter Weekend Forecast
Rain will move through parts of Mid-Missouri but there will be plenty of dry time as well this weekend. The first chance of rain moves in Saturday morning with a chance of showers mainly west of HWY 63 and north of I-70. Many areas will be missed by Saturday’s light rain. Saturday will be the warmest day of the weekend with highs in the lower 60s north to the upper 60s south.
As a cold front moves through Saturday evening, a spot shower is possible but most areas will stay dry until early Sunday morning as an upper level wave sends an area of rain in from the southwest.
Rain is forecast to spread to the northeast early Sunday morning, reaching Columbia and Jefferson City by 7 AM. This area of rain will spread northeast to near Mexico then gradually pull to the east through late morning ending by early afternoon near I-44. The best chance of rain Sunday will be south of I-70 through the morning with areas farther north possibly missed by the rain completely.
It will be cooler Sunday with temperatures starting near 40 and reaching the lower 50s in the afternoon as skies break up. A little sunshine is possible by mid-afternoon with northwesterly winds near 10 mph.
