Storms overnight leave up to 200 customers without power in Boone County

Storms overnight Thursday caused power outages across Boone County impacting up to 200 customers at one point.

ABC 17 news checked with Boone Electric Cooperative Thursday morning. The provider said four outages were reported overnight after storms rolled through Boone County around 11:00 Wednesday night.

The outages happened in Ashland, near West Gleason Road, near Creasy Springs Road, and in the area around West Nebo Cemetery Road.

Boone Electric Cooperative said trees knocked down during the storms caused all four outages.

By 5:00 a.m. Thursday Boone Electric reported around 20 customers were still without power. It said those outages were near Creasy Springs Road, West Gleason Road and near West Nebo Cemetery Road. Boone Electric said it has crew on the scene working to repair the outages.

Just before 6:30 a.m. Boone Electric Cooperative said it had restored power to the West Gleason area. Crews on site said it would be up to Boone County Public Works to remove downed trees in the area.

An outage was also reported just before 7:00 a.m. near Mill Creek. Boone Electric said one person reported waking up with no power. Boone Electric said right now, only one person has reported not having power in the area.
