Changing temperatures, weekend rain

Temperatures will be up and down in the next week with cooler air moving in behind a cold front on Easter Sunday. Sunshine will bring temperatures up to near 60 Friday and we’ll climb to the lower 60s Saturday. But an approaching cold front will bring light showers through Mid-Missouri Saturday morning through mid-afternoon. The best chance of rain Saturday is north of I-70. We’ll be drier from mid-afternoon through the evening before the next wave arrives overnight.

As colder air moves in Saturday night, another wave of low pressure aloft will move in from the west bringing rain in by daybreak Sunday. It looks more likely that this rain will affect areas south of I-70 with a lower chance of rain north. Temperatures will only reach near 50 Sunday with mostly cloudy skies.

Rainfall amounts look light for the weekend with most areas getting under two tenths of an inch. Areas near I-44 will see up to a half inch of rain through Sunday.
