Wednesday evening storms, severe risk

A line of showers and t-storms will develop ahead of a cold front and sweep across Mid-Missouri Wednesday evening from 6 PM near HWY 65, heading east and out of the area by 1 AM. Some of the the storms could contain damaging wind of 60 mph or greater or large hail, close to the size of quarters. All of Mid-Missouri is under a marginal severe risk Wednesday evening for the possibility of isolated damaging winds or large hail. The tornado risk is very low but can’t be ruled out.

Rainfall amounts of a quarter to half inch are expected with these storms with areas under stronger storms getting close to a half to three quarters of an inch of rain. Flooding is not expected due to the quick movement of the storms.
