Popular safety mascot disappears in Jefferson City

The hits just keep on coming for MoDot’s famous, 10-foot tall mascot, Barrel Bob. After getting set on fire by Halloween vandals last October, now ABC 17 News confirmed he is missing from his usual spot near Highway 50/63 in east Jefferson City.

The agency thinks the popular roadside safety feature disappeared sometime overnight this Saturday.

MoDot says it has alerted police and the highway patrol. At one point, crews thought they found Bob’s legs after getting hit by a car, but it turned out to be a false alarm.
