Lanes blocked on southbound Highway 63 connector over I-70 after semi overturns

Emergency crews have shut down both lanes of Highway 63 near connector after a semi overturned.

It happened around 8:30 Monday morning.

Boone County Joint Communications sent an alert just before 9:00 saying both lanes were blocked on the Highway 63 connector over I-70 due to the crash.

Our ABC 17 News crew in the area reported seeing a semi truck overturned. Our crews reported being stuck in the back-up for at least ten minutes.

MoDOT Central District also tweeted about the crash saying “Delays likely on the Route 63 Connector over I-70, due to a tractor trailer crash.”

We have additional crews on the way to scene. Right now its unclear if anyone was hurt in the crash and what caused it.
