Meteorologist/Weather Reporter

JOB DESCRIPTION: The meteorologist/weather reporter’s duties include anchoring and producing weather forecasts for a daily midday newscast and company’s digital platforms plus reporting for the station’s evening newscasts. The position will be responsible for assisting in the station’s aggressive digital approach to news and weather as well. Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS: The right candidate must have the ability to communicate weather forecasts and relate them to everyday life effectively. He/she needs strong organizational skills, a developed comfort level on camera and a professional appearance. An experienced meteorologist who is familiar with the Triton I-7 Radar system and The Weather Company (WSI) graphics is preferred. On camera reporting or anchoring experience is a plus.

HOURS/SCHEDULE: This is a full-time position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 11:00am – 8:00pm with flexibility required by the employee.

EDUCATION: A college degree in meteorology, atmospheric sciences or a related field is preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The position will require operation of a company vehicle or a personal vehicle for business use. Candidate must pass a drug test, background check, and MVR check.
